Hickory Co-Working is a vision by me, Hickory local, Jennifer Vaaler, where I want to create an “accelerator” space as the premier place for like-minded Solopreneurs, Entrepreneurs, work from home, and Small Business Owners to start scaling their business through resources, collaboration, and community.


What is Coworking?

Coworking is a business services provision model that involves individuals working independently or collaboratively in shared office space. … The owner of the space provides a work environment and, usually, office equipment and amenities found in a typical office.

Working from home or an office space is great, but it can get lonely. That’s why I want to start a community of like-minded people, who want to have a relaxed atmosphere with other local peers on the same business journey.


How does it work?

At this point, I am doing market research to gain interest in our area before opening the doors. The first step is to gain interest in this incubator concept, then grow into a permanent space.

It’s time to cultivate value and community in our town to boost the economy and revitalize the area!

About Jennifer

Hi I’m Jennifer Vaaler. I grew up in Lenoir and have lived in Hickory most my life.

After living in Raleigh for a few years and moving back to the area, I realized how much I missed the Entrepreneurial vibe, but preferred being closer to my family, love my hometown, and mountains. I also noticed there there is a huge need for local Solopreneurs, Entrepreneurs, Small Business Owners, and out of town business people who need a space and community to thrive in Catawba County.

I have a background in Business, Marketing, Time Management, Office Organizing, Administrative Assistance, WordPress, Evernote Certified, editing/proofreading/formatting website copy and blog copy. I utilize this skill set to help overwhelmed and burnt out Solopreneurs, Entrepreneurs, and Small Business owners grow their business.

I am also a personal safety advocate to empower, educate and equip families with the tools they need to be prepared and not become a statistic.
